Up and down Manhattan...
It was the Central Park on the way to hour home...
... the chill and stench of our hostel at "Columbus Studios", 83rd street, Upper West End... Neither three thin blankets, nor my coat prevented me from the cold at night...
... Times Square with colorful advertisements for Broadway shows, Corona beer and M&Ms...
... the Fifth Avenue with "De Beers" diamonds, one of Donald Trump's buildings and Playboy Enterprises...
... somewhat spooky Ground Zero and lunch at Burger King overlooking dozens of armed policemen in the area...
... the Wall Street...
... the Flatiron building...
... meeting the Lithuanian community celebrating Uzgavenes with potato pancakes and dumplings and enjoying the Carmenere Chilean wine with Egdunas...
... the enormous underground system, where we had to wait for the train at 2 pm, after escaping Bronx... the "Labyrinth Books", Columbia Campus overlooking Harlem... amazing sunset at the southern tip of Manhattan, observing the Statue of Liberty in the horizon...
... a tiny bookstore, which I came across the last evening walking up the Broadway towards home from Chinatown, where we had dinner at a Thai restaurant. Two-storey high shelves loaded with ancient used volumes of Plato and the likes.
There was a black raven. And a grey-haired woman with glasses, explaining to some curious customer that the store has no conventional working hours. I had only some five minutes to look around, while the guys and Antonn were at the Starbuck's waiting for Stephan's hot white chocolate...
... and Chinese Fung Wah bus for fifteen dollars back to Boston...
